President Obama Orders All US Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Colorado Shooting Victims. July 25th, 2012 – Today, President Obama has called for all American flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of the Aurora, Colorado shooting victims and their families. US flags are to be at half-staff until sunset today in remembrance of those who were lost and the sufferers of the tragic movie theater massacre. Among those who lost their lives in the attack were Jonathan Blunk, a 26-year-old Navy veteran; Jesse Childress, a 29-year-old Air Force cybersystems operator; John Larimer, a 27-year-old-sailor; and Rebecca Wingo, a 32-year-old Air Force veteran. In a speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Monday, Obama said, “These young patriots were willing to serve in faraway lands, yet they were taken from us at home.” President Barack Obama Proclaimed: “As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on July 20, 2012, in Aurora, Colorado, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at … ![]()
